2021 Update:
I completed my first two years of college at Southwestern Illinois College where I completed a majority of my general education classes. I was fortunate enough to not gain “the Freshman 15,” but instead through hard work, I was able to lose 50 pounds! Fall of 2020, I was accepted into the Nursing program at Illinois College in Jacksonville where I started as a second year Sophomore. This semester, Spring 2021, is when I start my clinicals and labs. I am super excited to begin this journey of becoming a nurse and follow in the footsteps of my mom. This experience away from home has been eye opening, being on my own and becoming an adult. I would not change my experience I have had so far. I want to thank the Mascoutah Alumni and Friends for all they have done, and continue to do, in providing graduates with scholarships. I greatly appreciated the money I received to help me in fulfilling my education and dreams. Once an Indian, always an Indian.
