2017 Recipient

2018 Update:

I have just completed my freshman year at Benedictine College in Atchison, Kansas. I am currently working towards getting into the nursing program at Benedictine. The program is 2 years in which applicants apply in December of their sophomore, which will be me in the next couple of months. Students are admitted for their junior and senior years. The program is highly competitive and students are chosen strictly based upon GPA. As a result, I am working diligently to keep my grades up. Although the competition is stiff, I am encouraged by the challenge and feel confident in my grades. Along with school I am also running Cross Country & Track at Benedictine College which has provided me with the experiences of a lifetime. I am proud to have been able to compete at the national level in Vancouver, Washington this past November at the NAIA Cross Country National Meet. Running has always been a passion of mine and I am also a member of Life Runners. Life Runners is an organization of people who run to promote life at all stages, from conception to death. However, the opportunities this scholarship have provided me don’t end at Benedictine. This past Spring break I spent the week in the Amazonian Jungles of Peru conducting research and going on expeditions with the Benedictine Biology Department.  This was an experience of a lifetime and ignited a love for travel. I am excited to continue to make more memories at Benedictine these next three years but nothing will replace the memories Mascoutah has given me. Thank you and God Bless.
